Mavron String Quartet Receive Musicians Benevolent Fund Award

In October 2006, the Mavron String Quartet was delighted to receive
an MBF Award for Ensembles. The award will be used to further the development
of the calibre of the Mavron Quartet as a chamber group. It will allow the
quartet to attend master classes and international chamber music courses, aiding
their quest for excellence. While the financial aid is most appreciated, it
is also the recognition and belief that the Mavron Quartet are a worthy ensemble
for this award which has heightened the quartet’s desire to succeed as
a professional ensemble.

Junior Fellowship Award
September 2004 was an exciting time for the Mavron String Quartet as they
were awarded Junior Fellowship status at the Royal Welsh College of Music and
Drama.
The support of the RWCMD enabled the quartet to work intensively in a fantastically
focused environment. This unique opportunity enabled the four members to develop
as an ensemble and focus on establishing the quartet professionally.
Asked on numerous occasions to represent college in various settings, the
Junior Fellowship gave the Mavron Quartet a platform to start from. Chrissie,
Katy, Rebekah and Sarah are grateful for this and are now enjoying a vibrant
work schedule.
